Who are we?
The GirlTREK Garden Club is an intergenerational space for connecting with nature, our food, and each other. We support community-led, organic, regenerative food systems and the laborers who power them. We are committed to food sovereignty.
What are our values?
- We engage with each other in gratitude and reciprocity.
- We steward a renewable resource. We take enough to enjoy and leave enough to share.
- The health of our environment, communities, and bodies is paramount. Because of this, we avoid practices that pollute or poison.
- We center and amplify joy.
Where do we garden?
GirlTREK Gardens are everywhere! There are no rules for what a garden must look like. We encourage you to grow wherever you have space and in a way that feels right for you.
What are the rules?
We ask that you embrace the values of the Garden Club — simple as that!
Does GirlTREK provide supplies to support gardens?
The GirlTREK Garden Club does not currently provide garden supplies. However, we occasionally offer free giveaways from partner organizations, free workshops and webinars, and the mutual support of a wise community of gardeners.
How do I connect with other Garden Club members?
The best place to connect with the Garden Club is on Facebook. Additionally, we have a routine newsletter that shares information about upcoming events and activities with the garden club. Sign up here to stay engaged!
When are live events with the Garden Club?
Beginning in June 2025, we will start hosting Office Hours on the first Monday of every month at 7 PM EST, facilitated by GirlTREK Garden Club members. During Office Hours, you will learn gardening skills and be able to ask questions. Additionally, we host webinars with partner organizations four times a year to share techniques and provide learning opportunities focused on Black gardens. You can learn about the webinars by signing up for our Garden Club email list and checking our Facebook page regularly.
