The Membership Meeting is our annual virtual gathering on Harriet Tubman Day, where we come together to vision, strategize, and activate. This is the moment to learn about GirlTREK’s Ten-Point Joy & Justice Agenda, get moving with Spring Training, and celebrate the power of this movement.

No. But we encourage you to JOIN THE MOVEMENT so you don’t miss any important updates. Every Black woman and girl is welcome. Bring your mother, daughter, sister, or best friend; this is a space for all of us.

It is a live video broadcast streamed online. You can join from your phone, laptop, or TV, alone or with your sisters.

Harriet House Parties
Q: Are we hosting Harriet House Parties on March 10th?
Yes and no. This year, the Membership Meeting is the official Harriet House Party. However, women who want to host gatherings in their homes or communities on March 10 are encouraged to do so as a watch party.
Q: Can I still host a Harriet House Party on March 10th?
Yes. You can gather friends, family, or community members to join the Membership Meeting. You can use the Harriet House Party toolkit to guide your event.
Q: Will Harriet House Parties only take place on March 10th?
No. In 2025, Harriet House Parties will be an ongoing initiative that can be hosted throughout the year. More details will be shared at the Membership Meeting.

Harriet Tubman Day, observed on March 10, is a movement holiday honoring Tubman's legacy. It is a day of remembrance, action, and mobilization.
Q: Why does Harriet Tubman Day matter to GirlTREK?
For over a decade, GirlTREK has organized around Harriet Tubman Day to reclaim her legacy, honor her spirit, and walk in her footsteps. It marks the official start of the Membership Meeting and a call to collective action.
Q: Did you know that Harriet Tubman Day falls on the Monday after the 60th anniversary of Bloody Sunday?
Yes. This year’s Membership Meeting acknowledges and honors the legacy of the foot soldiers who marched across the Edmund Pettus Bridge in Selma. We gather to celebrate the past and build the future.
Q: Did you know Harriet Tubman Day also falls on Black Women’s Rest Day?
Yes. Black Women’s Rest Day is an observance recognizing the right to rest, restore, and reclaim time. Walking is one way to rest, and we invite all women to take a walk to honor this day.
