GirlTrek is serious about the health and well-being of Black women. The GirlTrek off-season is a period of time where the GirlTrek offices across the country close and suspend work/organizing-related activities, and encourage all of it's members and volunteers to do the same, to allow the GirlTrek staff and community time to focus on filling their wells, radical self-care and joy.
GirlTrek’s national and regional offices close each year on December 1st and we come back on Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. day.
The GirlTrek national team will spend that time recouping, enjoying time with family and friends, and engaging in self-care activities to feed the body, mind, and spirit.
Our Facebook Ambassadors, the amazing keepers of our city pages, and our Community Care Crusaders will also participate in this radical act of self-care. Our Care Crusaders will respond to emergencies. Please call 855.GRL.TREK for details.
We encourage all our volunteer organizers to do the same. We are so grateful that they will also take this time to do things that bring them joy.
During our off-season break, we go dark in order to be filled with light. Although we take a break from organizing, we continue to honor our "30 minute a day" commitment, so continue waking, or moving, in the direction of your healthiest and most fulfilled life!
If you have a GirlTrek emergency during our off season break, please contact our Community Care Crusade team at 855.GRL.TREK.
For off-season non-emergencies, please connect with us when we return from break, or leave a message at info@girlTrek.org.
