When GirlTREK was founded, we worked with health agencies and thought leaders to identify the country's highest-need cities for Black women's health. Based on extensive research, GirlTREK created 50 official GirlTREK City pages that are linked to our website. The National Office manages these pages.
We do not add more city pages to our website. Women join the city page community that is closest to them. The official GirlTREK City Pages acts as the central hub for the entire state.
In addition to joining the official GirlTREK city page, organizers around the country can create volunteer sub-group pages to help them organize their sisters and friends in their community.
There are specific rules and guidelines for creating volunteer pages not listed on the GirlTREK site. One thing to remember is to not include "GirlTREK" in a sub-group page. Examples of sub-group page names are:
Seattle Treks
ATL Treks
Trekkers of L.A.
Please join the Crew Leader Facebook Page to review Tips and Best Practices for creating a volunteer page.
Thanks for being the Harriet in your community and for loving the movement.
